Lead the Launch of Hull’s Newest Coffee House & Business Lounge
We’re looking for a passionate, ambitious and experienced Hospitality & Operations Pro to lead the launch and day-to-day running of the brand-new coffee house located at MONOCLE – a destination for the public and business community to enjoy a design-led cafe in the heart of Hull City Centre. Opening in June 2025 🎉
The ground floor space will be the heart and soul of the building – it will be a relaxed space where great taste meets great design, serving speciality coffee, quality food, and warm hospitality in a beautifully curated setting.
You’ll have free-reign to be creative, developing seasonal menus, speciality drinks, snacks, hosting events, and building relationships with monocle members and the public. You will be instrumental in bringing the vision to life, building a team, shaping the customer experience, and ensuring operational excellence from day one.
Once fully occupied Monocle will house upto 600 business members, and the coffeehouse will also be open to the public too. The coffee house seats 45, with the neighbouring business lounge seating another 20+ people.

What we’re looking for
- Experience in hospitality management or premium coffee/food operations
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to build and motivate a team
- Passion for coffee, food, and customer experience through service and good design
- Operational know-how: stock, scheduling, training, budgets, systems
- A hands-on leader who can create a brilliant atmosphere and customer journey
- A friendly, professional, motivated individual
